"Color In A Hurry"
Since the release of the 1999 DuPont World Color Bulletins for domestic and import vehicles, the DuPont color stock code has been used for all DuPont paint qualities. This includes all Nason® brand paint qualities such as: Ful-Base®, Astron®, FastDry™, and Ful-Thane® High-Solids Urethane.
The 1998 Nason Import Color Chip Book was the final issue of a separate Nason book and color formula code system. Though it was the end of a long tradition, in 1999 we started a new, more beneficial tradition by moving the Nason brand to the DuPont World Color Books. The move makes it easier and faster to locate colors.
To Find 1999 and Newer Nason Colors:
Use the DuPont stock code listed in the color chips to retrieve the correct formula in ColorNet® or in any of the Nason microfiche dated September 1, 1998 and newer issues.
To Find Nason Colors used before 1999:
If you have the DuPont World Color Bulletins, simply use the DuPont stock code listed in the color chip books. If you have Nason color bulletins prior to 1999, these colors which are listed under the old Nason code, must be cross-referenced to the new corresponding DuPont color stock code. The following steps can accomplish this. If you have ColorNet®, the old Nason color stock codes can be cross-referenced by using the formula cross-reference function (F4). If you retrieve your Nason color formulas via microfiche, a page has been included at the beginning of each microfiche set which contains a cross reference grid to obtain the new DuPont stock code. After this new color stock code is found, just follow your normal formula retrieval procedure.
Nason Factory Packaged Colors Maintain Same Stock Code
Formulas for both the Nasco™ Enamel and Ful-Thane® 2K Urethane Factory Packaged Colors can continue to be retrieved as they had before this stock code change took place. To retrieve mixing formulas for the Nasco™ colors, simply remove the dash (419-XX) from the factory package code and use the 5-digit number as your formula number.
(Example: The mixing formula for fac pac code 419-63 (Striking Silver Met) is 41963.)
There are two steps to retrieve the Ful-Thane® 2K colors. First, change the first three digits of the fac pac code from 400-XX to 490-XX. The second step is to remove the dash.
(Example: The mixing formula for fac pac code 400-41 (Brilliant Teal Met) is 49041. Note that there are two exceptions to this rule. To retrieve the mixing formulas for 2K fac pacs 400-80 (Orange) and 400-84 (Deep Red), the first three digits of the factory package code must be changed from 400-XX to 419-XX instead of 490-XX. So for these two colors, the mixing formula codes would be 41980 and 41984 respectively.)
NOTE: As has always been our policy, the Ful-Base® Color System and Astron® are matched to exterior colors only.
